It’s the Suburban Landscape

You’re 9 years old,
in the middle of nowhere and yet everything comes to you.

You are not a murderer with a sawed-off shotgun,
a week’s worth of 5:00 shadow, a hostage,
and keys to an as yet to be stolen police car.

You’re just a little girl peddling on a bike
(being tailed by a helicopter).
